About Hilsea Lido
Portsmouth's 1935 open-air lido beside London Road at Hilsea, reopened on 2 May 2026 after a council-led restoration. The 67m pool is run by Sea Lanes with South Downs Leisure and now has a sauna, a splash pool and a food and drink offer open to walk-in visitors. It hosts site visits and events as well as swimming.

A small number of free on-site spaces, including accessible bays, but very limited. Do not park on double yellow lines or the grass verges (tickets issued). Alternative: Village Hotel Portsmouth, Lakeshore Drive PO6 3FR, about 9 minutes' walk, free up to 4 hours. Portsbridge Car Park South is expected back in early 2027.

Buses 2, 3, 7, 8, 18, 20, 23 and 700 (Coastliner from Chichester/Brighton) all stop at Hilsea Lido on London Road. Cosham station is about 15 minutes' walk and Hilsea station about 25 minutes' walk (lido's figures).
