Use the Fareham Borough Council Portchester Castle car parks (Large and Small): £1.10 per hour, charged 10:00-18:00 only, max stay 12 hours, free before 10am - so a 06:45 breakfast is free. Pay by cash, card or PayByPhone (location number on the machine). Blue Badge holders free. English Heritage also mentions a second public car park on Castle Street (PO16 9UZ), about 10 minutes' walk from the castle; tariff not checked.

At the castle end of Castle Street, Portchester. First bus 3 (Fareham - Portsmouth) stops at the White Hart on White Hart Lane, about 10 minutes' walk; X3/X4/X5 run along the A27 at Mother Kellys (Paulsgrove), about 15 minutes. Portchester station is about 1 mile away.
