Approval-required events
Some events need a say over who comes. Approval-required events still show everywhere, but people request a place instead of booking, and you decide what each person gets. Payment, if any, only happens after you approve.
What you can do
Keep an event visible but ask people to request a place. Approve with a place or a ticket to pay for, or decline politely.
- Show “Request a place” with an honest note that it may not be approved
- See every request in one queue, with the person’s note
- Approve with a place at no charge, or with a ticket type to pay for
- Decline with a polite message, and save it as your usual reply
- Let people withdraw a request while you are still deciding
- Get a morning email when requests are waiting
How it works
Approval-required events, step by step.
- Step 1
Tick “Bookings need my approval”
The event stays visible, but booking becomes a request.
- Step 2
People ask
They send a request, get an email saying so, and you are notified.
- Step 3
Decide
Approve with a place or a ticket, or decline with your message.
- Step 4
They confirm
Approved people get their pass, or a button to pay and secure their place.

We can walk you through it in Studio and show how it would work for your region. Which features are on, and who pays for what if anyone, is set for each region.
